Media Support Fund, in accordance with the decision of the Council of the Fund of 15 October 2024, is launching a call for proposals for financial support for 2025.
The Fund will support projects, activities and grants for public information producers/disseminators in four programmes:
- Cultural Media and Cultural Periodicals;
- Regional Media;
- News, Investigative and Educational Journalism;
- Media in national minority languages for the Lithuanian diaspora.
The calls are open from 15 October 2024 to 13 November 2024 at 24.00. Applications submitted after the deadline set in the call will not be evaluated.
The 2025 applications are submitted in an electronic form, which can be found on the Foundation’s website here.
Applications received on time and meeting the administrative eligibility requirements will be evaluated by experts and the Fund’s Council will take a decision based on the experts’ conclusions.
Applicants for funding should note that applications must reflect the requirements set out in the Fund’s Rules for the Submission of Funded Projects (“the Rules”) and in the conditions of funding. We kindly invite you to carefully read the 2025 Rules and their annexes.
Please note the substantial changes/updates to the Rules for the 2025 Call:
Lower requirements for projects by start-up public information producers/disseminators in all programmes (no requirement to have been active for 2 years or more; circulation and audience must be reached in the second half of the second year of activity);
- Reduced requirements for all programmes (number of staff, period of operation, circulation, audience);
- Information is published only in Lithuanian;
- Funding for minority activities;
- Restriction on the participation of politicians in the activities of the producer/disseminator of public information;
- a fixed number of applications.
Please note that during the administrative eligibility assessment, only once will be allowed to submit additional or clarified data at the request of the Fund’s administration, so please fill in your application carefully and responsibly.
The Fund invites the media actively participate in the remote consultations on the changes/ innovations to the rules and the technical aspects of the application process.
